  • Contacting your CTS to talk about the hardware or software and its pedagogical application is the best way to ensure that the implementation of the technology will best fit its desired use. ITS Support Teams are generally in charge of acquiring, licensing, and installing software in offices, labs, and classrooms. The CTS you consult with will work with ITS to make arrangements and provide support.
  • I have a concern about the equipment available in the classroom
  • Classrooms with AV equipment usually include a VCR, DVD Player, computer, and projector. You can see the equipment available in each classroom here. If you would like to request changes to the equipment in a classroom you may contact Ralph Helt, director of the AV Center at 269.3121. Problems that you encounter with the equipment in your classroom can also be reported to the AV Center. Please be sure to relate as many details as you can about the issue you encounter.

  • Your first step is to call the AV Center at 269-3121. The technical support assistant in the building office may also be able to address the issue.
  • Something is wrong with the computer in my office
  • IT Support teams are available to resolve issues that you encounter with your office machine. Network connectivity, hardware failures, software errors, printing trouble and the like can be reported to your IT Support team by calling the Helpdesk (x4400) or by visiting help.grinnell.edu.
  • I would like some additional software to be installed on the computer in my office
  • If the software you require is not course related please consult with your IT Support team to arrange the acquisition and installation.
